The project will be worth 40 million. BGN and will have a key importance for the development of the region
With a special “first dig” ceremony the pharmaceutical company Vedra International and the producer Tera Pharmaceutical put the symbolic beginning of the investment project “Vedra Land” for over 40 million BGN in the village of Zidarovo, Burgas region. The event, which took place on September 18 at 10:00, was attended by Tihomir Yanakiev, mayor of Sozopol Municipality, as well as by partners of the investment companies from the scientific, medical and pharmaceutical spheres, journalists from various media.
The managing partners of Vedra International, Ms. Teodora Petrova and Mr. Dian Dimov, expressed their happiness to be able to contribute to the development of the region not only in the field of tourism, but also in the high-tech production of health products. Special thanks were sent to the main public health inspector Assoc. Dr. Angel Kunchev, to the executive director of the Drug Agency mag. pharm. Bogdan Kirilov, to the chief secretary of the BDA Mr. Svetlin Spirov, as well as to the Municipality of Sozopol, headed by the mayor Mr. Yanakiev, for timely, competently and professionally supporting the entire process of agreeing the project documentation, so that the beginning of the ambitious project will become reality.
“Vedra Land” combines the traditions of the Strandzha with the most modern technologies to promote a healthy lifestyle, achieved through the healing power of nature. In the pharmaceutical factory of Tera Pharmaceutical, part of “Vedra Land”, the developed products will be based precisely on natural resources characteristic of the region, Bulgaria and Europe. This will be the first stage of the creation of the complex and a building permit has already been issued for it. In the beginning, the production of medical devices Therasal gastro, suppositories, ovules and spray will be carried out, and the future development is planned to include the production of nutritional supplements and medicinal forms. The factory will be licensed and certified according to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485:2016 and GMP standard. The ambitions of Vedra International and Tera Pharmaceutical are to create sustainable and stable production development, which includes the export of quality Bulgarian products to over 200 countries.
Apart from the production base, an agricultiral complex is also planned in “Vedra Land”, which will grow more than 60 types of herbs and medicinal plants, as well as fruit trees and will include raising milk-producing animals. Students of medicine and pharmacy in Burgas will have access to it, as well as all people who are interested in a healthy lifestyle and holistic health care. The construction of a large event center with an area of nearly 1000 square meters is also part of the project’s future plans, and will have the opportunity to hold scientific events with the medical and pharmaceutical community. There are also plans for a unique minigolf course that will attract Bulgarian and foreign tourists and special guests.
Initially, about 40 employees with specialties in the fields of biology, chemistry and pharmacy will be engaged in the production of medical devices, and during the implementation of all stages of the project, more than 200 people with various skills will work for “Vedra Land”.
“Our mission has always been related to people being finally healthy, happy and with good quality of life” – says Ms. Petrova from Vedra. “From a long time ago, the village of Zidarovo has been known for its miraculous healing water, and today we are proud to start a project that will celebrate this unique heritage and continue the traditions of health care with a vision for the future.”
“Zidarovo was also the cradle of the revival-time entrepreneurship, as it is the birthplace of Alexander Georgiev-Kodzhakafaliyata – a modest, hardworking and generous Bulgarian entrepreneur who is one of the greatest benefactors in the history of Burgas and Bulgaria,” – shares Mrs. Petrova. “He gave over 100 million BGN to the municipality of Burgas and it will also be an honor for us to continue his mission and contribute to the development of the district.” The construction of the Tera Pharmaceutical plant, and in the future also the economic and scientific-tourism complex “Vedra Land”, will surely establish the region of Sozopol and Burgas as an example for attracting investments from established companies with modern production technologies.
